UCI - Best Locations for Graduation Portraits

Every spring, thousands of college seniors across the world begin to celebrate as they prepare to finish their final quarters and semesters. The next step is graduation, and that means it’s finally time to take grad photos!

UCI features a large and diverse campus with many hidden spots that are perfect for graduation portraits. Here are a few of my favorite locations at UCI that I use in all of my grad sessions!

Aldrich Park

The center of UCI is a giant park, filled with many photogenic trees, benches, and footpaths. If you love grad portraits with nature and beautiful light, this is the spot for you!

Anteater Statue

A grad session would not be complete without photos with the UCI mascot! The giant anteater statue is at Bren, but there are two addition ones at the student center, right across the street from Aldrich.

Rowland Hall Fountain

The fountain at Rowland Hall is another signature landmark of UCI that’s great for grad photos! This location gets crowded, so plan accordingly when scheduling your grad session.

Pro tip: Bring a small towel or an extra pair of socks!

Langson Library

Every campus has unique architecture and I feature it in my grad sessions. The walls of Langson Library look great in these wide shots!

Wheat Fields

Irvine is a beautiful town with rolling hills and great views, and there are some great spots just a few minutes from campus! My favorite spot to wrap up grad sessions at UCI is a wheat field with a great view, located just a five minute drive from University Center.

This blog post is the first part of a series featuring the many SoCal universities I photograph graduating seniors at. Stay tuned for my UCLA and USC blog posts, coming soon!
