Alma and Shawn: UCLA Graduation Portraits Couples' Session

My goal with graduation portrait sessions, as I’ve mentioned before in previous blog posts, is to create an experience and set of photos unique to each graduate. A couple full of personality and ideas like Alma and Shawn really makes for an amazing grad session! Check out what happened when they tried to hand fliers to each other!

Alma and Shawn involved in student activities during their time at UCLA, so we made sure to take photos at Kerckhoff Hall and Bruinwalk. I love how the colors of the UCLA graduation sash complement the deep greens of Bruinwalk and Royce’s color palette on an overcast day.

Afterwards, we stopped by Royce Hall, Janss Steps, and the inverted fountain. I love their champagne and confetti photos!

For the photographers out there, I did this shoot almost exclusively with my EOS R and RF 50 f1.2! I might do a another blog post on my thoughts on the new Canon mirrorless system, and what I think of it compared to my 5D system and experiences with the Sony system, check back in a few weeks for that :)
