La Jolla is the complete opposite of Westwood - a sleepy college town without the hustle-and-bustle, $6/hr parking lots, and endless streams of people crossing the street. I could be wrong here, but this was my initial impression of UCSD and its surrounding neighborhood when I visited a couple weeks ago to do Ashley's graduation portraits!
UCSD's campus is large and spread out, with pathways through groves and trees, giant lawns, and sitting areas between its huge buildings. Cool winds blow through from La Jolla Shores, which is only a short drive away, across the adjacent neighborhood. The architecture is modern and bold, in contrast to the classic architecture of UCLA. I finally got to see Geisel Library in person!
The weather was partly cloudy that day and provided beautiful, wrapping light for this dreamy session. It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to be back next week to do more UCSD graduation portraits!
